The rainy days of Spring are a good time for introspective activities such as knitting, playing board games, reading books, sipping hot beverages, and for some of the creative ones among us, writing poetry. Mary Bailey, Brian\u2019s mother, is a poet with sly humor. She and Mom (Harriet) were longtime friends and the Incahoots newsletter recently featured this poem in memory of her.<\/p>\n

Harriet<\/strong>
\nShe called us the M&M\u2019s of Incahoots.
\nSaid that\u2019s short for Mom and Mom
\nWhen inflating balloons and tying bows,
\nOur fingers became all thumbs.<\/p>\n

She said \u201cThis is not in my line of expertise,
\nAnd my other life is calling me.\u201d
\n\u201cI\u2019m just a social butterfly,
\nThat\u2019s really where I should be.\u201d<\/p>\n

I never thought that on one day,
\nShe would just up and fly away.
